What Causes Arm Fat?

While trying to figure out how to make my arms more slender, I also wanted to know what causes arm fat. I read all kinds of articles which gave scientific explanations with a lot of technical terms. Anyway, there might be multiple causes but in simple terms, the three basic things that stood out to me were: being overweight, genetics, and failing to build muscle.
Being overweight: Simply put, when you're overweight, developing fat around your arms is pretty much a given. And the bigger you grow, the more fat you accumulate. As we gain weight, excess fat finds places in our body where it can be stored. As such, it will inevitably be stored around the upper arms since we have fat cells all over the body. For the most part, where body fat ends up distributing itself around the body will differ from person to person and will also depend a lot on their gender. In any case, for everyone, there are generally fewer fat cells around the extremities of the body. That explains why when you're overweight, you tend to have more fat in your upper arms than your lower arms, or more in your thighs than below your knee level.
Genetics: This is a rough one because it means that if it runs down your family tree, you've got to work harder than the average person whose cause of arm fat is something other than genetics. As the body starts to store fat in the typical main areas like the belly, chest, back, and thighs, it will also store fat around the arms, neck and face to balance the shape of the body. Where your body decides to begin storing excess fat is highly due to genetics. So if your whole family seems to gain more around the arms, then chances are pretty high that you'll end up carrying more in that same area of the body. In some genetic cases, you'll even find pretty active teenagers who have started to develop it.
Lack of muscle tone: This cause manifests itself predominantly as we get older and it tends to result in more loose skin hanging underneath our arms as opposed to fat. As we age, we become less active, don't participate in sports as much as we used to and spend more time sitting around. We don't carry as much weight anymore. Well, the consequence is our muscles getting slack resulting in a slab of flesh dangling every time you raise your arm. The reality is that you absolutely don't even have to be overweight for this to happen. The best way to go about tackling this would be to find something that you enjoy doing and keeps you active at the same time.
I usually find that in trying to tackle a problem I have, it helps to know the reason you're having the problem to begin with. In this case, knowing what causes arm fat serves as a point of reference for getting rid of it.
Did you know that countless people make the mistake of trying to spot train and target specific areas of the body to lose fat without taking care of the ROOT CAUSE of the problem first? Are you guilty of being one of these people?
In order to successfully tackle problem areas on your body, you must first take control of your overall body fat. Click the link to see EXACTLY HOW you can do this.
